Proverbs 11:15
Guaranteeing a loan for a stranger is dangerous; it is better to refuse than to suffer later.

Military Ministry

Mission Statement

To minister to the needs of military members and their families while serving at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and around the world.  The Mill Creek Baptist Church Military Ministry program is made up of several different activities and events encompassing the Fort Knox soldiers and their families.  We provide ministry through Operation Bold Knight, "Hooray for Heroes", support as needed to spouses and families of soldiers deployed elsewhere, and we are developing a Wounded Warrior program.

Spouse and Family Support

Spouse and Family Support is a ministry helping spouses and families cope with those emergencies that always seem to come up when the service member is deployed, in the field, on TDY, or even away at school.  We will work with the Family Readiness Representative from the spouse's unit.  Any support given will be on an "as requested" basis.  If help is needed, the family contacts the Readiness Representative, who then would contact the ministry team.

Operation Bold Knight

Operation Bold Knight is a program working with the Staff Chaplain, 2nd Battalion, 81st Armored, 194th Armored Brigade.  We host the soldiers from a company of the battalion to an evening of food, fellowship, worship and counseling.  The soldiers come to Mill Creek Baptist Church from their unit.  They are fed a meal, welcomed, entertained, provided an opportunity to make a free phone call home or to a friend or loved one, and introduced to the plan of salvation.  They are then given the opportunity to talk with a counselor.

Wounded Warriors is being planned and developed as a ministry in support of the "Wounded Warrior" program at Fort Knox.  We will minister to these service members and their families in support of the Chaplain's office.  As this ministry is developed and implemented, we will post more information.
